Sis, The struggle is REAL!!!
So there I was at the start of the SA Covid 19 Lockdown encouraging curlies to use this time to get into a wash day routine... I mean I had mine down to the T! Prepoo the night before, then wash, deep condition, style, leave to air dry. and protect with my satin scarf. Every week the same routine. I was always on the road and always needed my hair looking somewhat good so it was a top priority.
Well fast forward and here I am... supposedly with all this time on my hands but my wash day and hair routine is totally out of the window!!! I started using my time to get things done that I was putting off while life was normal. I can't complain, I've achieved a lot during this time but to the detriment of my healthy hair. But not all is lost...
Two days ago I got a headache that just wouldn't leave; I drank water, I slept, I used essential oils, and finally took pain killers and anti inflammatories, but nothing helped...
One thing I did know was that my hair was a dirty, dry, hot, mess. I had last washed and styled it almost 3 weeks ago. Since then, I've just had it in a high puff. Not moisturizing it, not massaging my scalp, just leaving it. And guess what?! My curls started hugging. LOL. Social distancing was not on their agenda... when i opened my hair this morning I had knots and tangles all the way to my roots...
Long story short, I washed my hair with the KC Liquid Gold clarifying African Black Soap Shampoo and deep conditioned with the Oatso Creamy Deep Conditioner. My hair sucked all that moisture in!!! The thirst was real... I hope I've learned my lesson. I now have my hair in a protective style (singles and cornrows) so that I can keep my hair and scalp as healthy as possible...
So the saying is true, I just needed my hair done!
